A playful vocabulary companion for learning and remembering better words.
What I did
- Built a spinner reel with spring-physics deceleration so the spin slows down like a real wheel
- Designed and shipped a retro CRT TV spinner UI with 3D CSS side panels and custom synthesized audio
- Built a word bank of 1,300+ entries across 9 categories, enriched with definitions from dictionaryapi.dev
- Cleaned the word bank with a local Ollama (phi3) setup, removing overlong, fake and duplicate words, and kept the tone warm and human
- Added pronunciation playback for each word
- Added SEO and social metadata (Open Graph image, keywords) and mobile web app support
